Biography
Dr. Brandt started their nursing career in 2000 and worked in the ICU for 22 years
where they loved precepting new nurses. They started teaching at Carroll University
part-time in 2013 and then happily took a full-time position in 2015. During this
time Dr. Brandt pursued their Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner
(NP) degree. They left Carroll in 2019 to work as a Stroke NP with hopes to return
in the future. They returned to their true love of teaching at Carroll University
in 2022 and are very happy to be home.

Why do you do what you do?
I love helping students learn and grow as they make nursing their own.
How do you make learning engaging?
I like to use multiple learning strategies that address student’s individual learning
styles.
What should students know about you?
I have worked very hard in my nursing education and career, and I can relate to the
effort, courage, and perseverance it takes to become a nurse.
