The Van Male Athletic Complex was built in 1965 and has undergone a pair of partial renovations since then. The facility encompasses the Van Male Field House and Van Male Natatorium.
The Field House features the Ted Baker Basketball Court, volleyball courts, a four-lane indoor track and bleachers. The Natatorium is a six-lane, 25-yard pool. The facilities are home to several of Carroll University's athletic teams, including men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, indoor track and field, and swimming and diving. The center includes locker rooms, showers, restroom facilities, staff offices, storage spaces and laundry services, as well as classroom and athletic training spaces.

Facility Highlights
The modern and bright facility serves the entire Carroll community, and is an extension
of Carroll's commitment to wellness, fitness, intercollegiate athletics, student recreation
and intramurals, and the recruitment and retention of student-athletes. Notable interior
design features include displays of current student-athletes and highlighting Carroll's
23 NCAA sports, and a digital hall of fame that recognizes alumni athletes and pays
tribute to Carroll's rich athletic heritage. Athletics and fitness have always been
an important part of the Carroll Experience, and an outlet for the university to offer
students an opportunity to compete, grow, exercise and mature into Pioneers.
