To celebrate our University Ethos and commitment to service, we encourage all Pioneers to give back in their own communities. As Pioneers, we continue to help address the needs of our communities through stewardship by engaging in service for the first time or by repeating something you might already be doing at your place of worship, local schools, a non-profit organization, community center, and more. We are proud of our Pioneers who live the mission of "service in a diverse and global society."

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

Please join other Carroll University alumni, families and friends by providing time, talent or treasure to a cause that is close to your heart or to those living in need in your community. There are countless ways to share what you have with those in need. However you choose to serve during the Month of Service, please report back and share your contributions so we are able to capture and share all of the ways our Pioneers make a difference in their communities.

SERVICE TOOLKIT: Find a volunteer opportunity near you!

Points of Light Engage
Formerly “All For Good”, the Engage platform through Points of Light is the largest volunteer data base and provides individuals the opportunity to search by location, social justice issues areas, reoccurring volunteering or one-time opportunities, and more.

Volunteer Match
Search for volunteer opportunities based off your location! VolunteerMatch also allows you to filter opportunities by in person/ virtual options, causes, your specific skills, and more.

United Way
You can utilize UnitedWay to find a full list of volunteer opportunities or to locate the specific website for the closest UnitedWay near you. Opportunities can be based off of location, causes, etc. If interested in benefitting a nonprofit virtually you can broaden your search nationally.

Just Serve
JustServe allows you to search volunteer opportunities as well as other project opportunities such as non-monetary item donations. The Organization Search option is also a great resource to locate nonprofit agencies in a specific radius to your zip code.

Feeding America
Find a local food bank! Feeding America is a nationwide network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs that provides food and services to people each year. Together, they are the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization.

Support The Orange Thread
Help current Carroll students who are in need of professional clothing, household essentials, food and personal care products by donating to Carroll’s Orange Thread.

TIME

Volunteering hours or days in service of others. Examples include, but are not limited to, sorting donations at a food bank, reading to children at church, cleaning a neighbor's yard, etc.

TALENT

Using one's expertise to benefit a cause. Examples include, but are not limited to, serving on a Board, creating quilts for a raffle, leveraging professional relationships to benefit a cause, etc.

TREASURE

Financial contributions (big or small) donated to a organization or charity. Examples include, but are not limited to, supporting the Carroll Fund, giving to a non-profit organization, supporting a local, etc.
